Chris & Ave Tie the Knot!!

Welcome to our Wedding Blog!

We can't wait to see you all on the 8th of April for some craic agus ceol!!!

We hope this helps you find accommodation and become a little more informed, since we decided to have our wedding in the middle of nowhere!

A few things that you should know:

There is no ATM machine or credit/laser card facilities at Ballybeg and the bar only accepts cash, so we suggest you get cash before you arrive. There may be an ATM or cash back facilities in Aughrim or Rathdrum, but we will have to find out!

There will be a taxi service available all night and we have notified them that there will be a wedding at Ballybeg so they'll be able to take you to and from the venue at your convenience until the wee hours! After 3.00am they double the charge however!
The details for the taxi are as follows:

Fiona @ Tinahely Cabs: 086 8157065

We will be staying at Ballybeg the whole weekend, from Thursday through to Monday, so feel free to stay down the whole weekend too!

On Thursday night we'll probably be going somewhere for a bite to eat and drink and then attempting to get an early night (I don't want a puffy face on my wedding day!!)

Friday is the wedding

Saturday, we will probably gather at Ballybeg again in the early afternoon and get the hair of the dog! Then we'll probably go for some nice food in the evening! (We're still trying to work this one out)

Sunday, we might try and do some kind of fun activity, some people can play golf and there's plenty to see and do in the area.

Monday, it's bye bye Wicklow for us and hello Whistler, Canada for some sking and snowboarding action woohoo!!

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

Driving directions from Dublin airport
The journey time from Dublin airport is around two hours. From the airport, take the M1 (signposted Dublin). Leave the M1 at junction 3, then at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the M50 (signposted M50 Southbound). Continue onto the M11 and then the N11.

After about 30 miles, take the exit for Rathnew, Rathdrum and Arklow (R772) and enter Rathnew. Follow the signs for Rathdrum (passing through Glenealy). Stay on the R772 and follow the road to Aughrim .

A mile out of Rathdrum, take a right turn signposted for Aughrim. Follow the road through Ballinaclash as it bends sharply to the left after the bridge. In Aughrim turn left at The Market Square House and take the road for Tinahely, R747.

After 4 miles, you'll come to a Campus petrol station . Take a right turn here and follow the road. At the T-junction, turn left. About half a mile up this road you will come to a stone wall on your right, at the end of this wall, on the bend of the hill take a sharp turn right, this is the entrance to Ballybeg House.
